I used to farm for a living: onions in the field, sheep and goats in the pen. The work was demanding and I eventually let it go, but caring for the things that fed me changed how I see the world. These days the farm has simply followed me home. More than 40 plants share my space, the hills keep me walking, and the kitchen keeps me curious. My signature dish is chapati, the one meal I watched my mother make growing up.
